What: Driving Diary (12 month experimental project)
Where: South Australia
Why: To record 12 months of my life driving, and in the process reflect on my own driving behaviour and to possibly highlight how other ppl's behaviours can impact negatively on us. Accidents can be so easily avoided.
Main Observation(s):
1) car driving without headlights
2) RBT Station (40 km zone)
3) two cars drag racing
Conditions: Visibility good
Date/Time: Sunday, 14 Dec 2008, around 2200
Location(s):
- Tapley's Hill Road
- Brighton Road
Sound: I only keep one CD in the car and change that weekly, so there will be some repetition. GPS also makes a few sounds and audible directions.
Technical Notes: I would like to add that YouTube is really unpredictable when uploading files. If anyone is having trouble with their files rendering in a fast forward type of speed (but the original is fine) - and you are using a mac - no amount of re-uploading will fix it. It appears (as other mac users have also reported this too) to be a YouTube problem. This is my workaround (it works for me) - it's longwinded and you lose some quality, but it works:
- .mov (or whatever format) to m4v
- m4v into iMovie
- using the share function within iMovie, upload to YT
- result: slow but works every time
This is for educational (not punitive) purposes, it is my belief that citizens shouldn't police other citizens.
